Field Marshal Haig's Own Pipes & Drums performs w.ith The Chieftains at Labadoux Festival, Flanders/ Belgium

The first of a series of flashmobs in Flemish cities, aimed at raising awareness on the Centenary of the dramatic fight towards the small town of Passchendaele in late summer and autumn 1917. Nearly half a million soldiers on both sides became casualty, "Passchendaele" became a byword for mud and bloodshed. The flashmobs were a cooperation between the remembrance pipeband Field Marshal Haig's Own Pipes & Drums (Flanders), the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 and the Genootschap Passchendaele Society 1917, supported by the Flemish government.
